How to Care for Hardwood Floors

The day has finally come. Your new flooring has just been installed and you are ready to sit back and relax, but wait! You don’t know how to care for hardwood floors.

Don’t panic – We’ve got you covered with this handy pointer guide covering all your floor care questions.

How to Care for Hardwood Floors – Urethane

If your floors feature a Urethane-based finish, we recommend using only a neutral cleaner with a pH of 7.  Be mindful not to use any pre-moistened pads, as those have a very high pH and can damage your floors. Apply cleaning solutions with a terry cloth mop and don’t forget to remove any remaining liquid once you are done cleaning.

How to Care for Hardwood Floors – Oil

If your floors feature an Oil-based finish, we recommend using only WOCA maintenance and cleaning products. Use them as directed on their packaging and you’ll be left with a very wear-resistant finish that can be easily maintained.

  • Avoid Excessive UV Ray or Sunlight Exposure
  • Use Protective Coverings (Such as Felt Furniture Leg Pads) to Protect Your Floors from Scratches and Dents
